Sea Sound Festival 2025: All artists in one place

The Sea Sound Festival, which takes place on 17-20 July at Martinska in Šibenik, Croatia, brings about forty performers on three stages with three sound systems, guarantees four full days of musical celebration dedicated to sound system culture, on the peninsula opposite Šibenik.

The second edition of Sea sound Festival presents:

Channel One Sund System

Channel One Sound System is one of the most famous sound systems in the UK. It was formed in the late ’70s, when Michael and Trevor Bailey took over the sound from their father, Admiral Bailey. The name was chosen in honor of Channel One, the iconic Jamaican recording studio from which the brothers obtained many of their records. During that time, it was very difficult to come up with new reggae music, because it wasn’t played on radio stations or in local clubs. Blues parties and illegal bars were one of the few places where the latest and most popular reggae tracks were played on the sound systems.

Channel One began participating in the Notting Hill Carnival in 1982 and has since been a prominent and integral part of the Notting Hill Carnival, London’s largest celebration of Caribbean culture, especially the Afro-Caribbean communities, and has played a significant role in shaping the musical image of the event and its lively atmosphere. Channel One is run by Mikey Dread, the original selector, who exclusively plays the vinyl selection on his one gramophone. With him, various singers and MCs are refining the music with Rastafarian songs.
