RoadTripper crew is returning to the Sea Sound Festival! The team behind Roadtripper Sound System, besides operating those mighty boxes, also navigates flawlessly through musical selections. RoadTripper Crew are: RoadTripper, Little Vex, Flico, Feeks, San Andrea and Millah! It all started in 2011 when Vedran Šimunec (Little Vex) and Luka Sertić (RoadTripper) met at a party. A great friendship started immediately, and RoadTrippers (an acoustic reggae, ska, psydub band) was formed. After years of performing at numerous festivals and clubs, RoadTrippers built the RoadTripper SoundSystem. Construction started in late 2018 and was completed by mid-2019, with six scoops in the bass section. In the meantime, the RoadTripper crew gathered more dub/reggae enthusiasts into their crew. We wil liste to their slections at second edition of the sound system festival, which takes place from July 17 to 20 at Martinska in Šibenik.
RoadTripper
Luka Sertić, aka RoadTripper, became a passionate lover of dub upon his first encounter with dub sound systems. After years of gathering inspiration and thorough research, he decided to build his own sound system in California and anchor it in Croatia. Since then, he has been advancing his knowledge, both in technical operation of sound systems and in dub music production. Although he enjoys a wide spectrum of genres and subgenres, his hallmark is his affinity for a hard digital style with deep bass frequencies.
Little Vex
Vedran Šimunec, aka Little Vex, is a multi-instrumentalist, MC, selector, and above all, a passionate lover of reggae and dub music. You could see him on big and small stages as a regular guest with the Zagreb band One Dread, occasionally with Brain Holidays, or with his own Reguljas. He has performed at numerous regional festivals such as Overjam and Seasplash. In dub circles, he often appears as a guest MC and is a resident on the microphone at RoadTripper sound system. Recently, he has started collecting vinyl records of reggae music with which he warms up dance floors. Besides music, he is involved in journalism and collaborates as a reporter with the only Croatian reggae portal, Reggae.hr.
Flico
Along with working at many festivals across Croatia, Flico is also a member of Zazoo sound and Kurs Collective, joining in mid-2019 with Education TV. His selection varies between dub, roots, and dub tech. You had the opportunity to listen to check him out at festivals such as Hidden Beach, Dub colony, t.o.y., Membrain, Strobolobodobolos, Forestation, Freemental, and Zagreb tribe.
Feeks
Young selector from Zagreb, Feeks is member of Roadtripper Soundsystem crew and Forestation collective. In more than two years he playd in clubs Željezničar, Medika, Klub Dva Osam, Kotač, Trk u Šumu Festival, Zion Boška, Cultiva Festival, Bass Forest Festival, Winter Fešta, Sea Sound Festival… His selection is based on darker, harder digital stepper tracks, and with dub he likes to play dubstep and psytrance.
San Andrea
Girl from Zagreb San Andrea, is a member of Roadtripper collective. Her selection is based on roots, reggae, and stepper style tracks. Her goal is to make a god party with playing good music.
Millah
Millah is a young selector and vocalist from Pula, raised on quality music and deep vibrations. As a kid, she was absorbing sounds from all sides, but the real click happened in her teenage days, when through the Outlook Festival, she entered the world of soundsystem culture and fell in love with the sounds of the fine bass. At the age of 16 he begins to make his own music – an oak that carries the roots of the bushes, but without fear in a more modern and hard direction. Since 2018, he has been part of numerous festivals and sessions: Seasplash, ETC, Zion Boška, as well as home bases such as Kotača (Pula), Pločnik and Medika (Zagreb). In short, her guidance is deep with character and a clear stance with a vibe that shakes the speakers but also the audience.
