Music selector and journalist Ras Padsystema will join the first Sea Sound Festival, where, in addition to playing music, he will moderate a lecture in which he will talk with representatives of the sound systems powering the festival’s stages. Conversation with sound system representatives will be held on Friday, July 19th, and Ras Padsystema’s set is scheduled for Sunday, July 21st, on the Roots Sound stage.
Best known today as the founder of the Worries in the dance collective and the radio show on Radio Roža, Ras Padsystema has been active on the scene since 2009, when he embarked on an adventure with the Reggae Hr website. In 2012 he started Dreadlocks in the moonlight, a show that presents regional dub and reggae sound on HRT Radio Rijeka in the student program Radio Sova and the broadcast continues until the end of his collage. With the establishment of community radio Radio Roža, Ras Padsystema starts the show Worries in the dance, which is immediately accepted by the entire scene with open arms, which opens up the space for Worries in the dance to become more than an “ordinary” show. Soon, the show will start to broadcast on KLFM radio and once a month Ras Padsystema will deliver a session for Radio Nula.
The general support of the team from Radio Rože, Radio Nula and the entire regional dub and reggae scene motivates Ras Padsystema to start as a selector and he performs at Escape the City, Zion Boška, Trk u šumu and Pandemonium festivals, at soundsystem sessions in Hartera and elsewhere. In 2022, Worries in the dance show expanded into a collective of promoters and selectors and a series of events called Dreadlocks in the moonlight was launched on the beaches of Rijeka’s Kantrida. Everything continues with club nights in Rijeka’s clubs. Those events book artists like Vibration Addict Soundsystem, Sandokan Hifi, Mefa (Slavonija Vibes Syndicate) and Jamcoast.
