The Homegrowns are joining the Sea Sound Festival

The Homegrowns is an ever-evolving Jamaican music project with roots in the sleepy town of Radeče and branches all over Slovenia. The first seeds of the project date back to December 2019 when a warmup riddim band accompanied MC Krebl, Haris Pilton and Tadiman. Towards the end of 2020 the original trio from Radeče started recording original material but searched in vain for a way to play in front of a live audience. In March of 2022 they released three singles which brought the band new energy, collaborations with new musicians and the official band formation for a local show in Pristava Počakovo. The year 2023 was a turning point for the band as the shows kept coming all around their home country.

The band primarily makes original music in the many styles of Jamaican music with Slovenian and English lyrics along with every band member’s personal music taste which spices up the band’s traditional and authentic Jamaican sound.

The Homngrowns are: Rok Železnik, keyboards, Anja Novak, vocal, Andrej Barachini, bass, Rok Zupan, drums, Žan Bezek, guitar, Andrej Fon, tenor sax, Andrej Bantan, alt sax, Jure Grimšič, trombone, Jeromej Kostajnšek, trumpet!
